
The Vocational Day Program is committed to supporting each individual reach their greatest potential, both vocationally and socially. Each individual will be assessed according to their program and level of ability to determine the level of support they will need to be successful and productive.They will then be trained in clerical, inventory, recycling, janitorial, and life skills. Life skills consists of training in hygiene, kitchen safety, food preparation, cooking, money management and emergency preparedness.With these trainings the program will graduate individuals to the Employment Services program where their employment skills will be further developed. The goal of this program is to find every individual's strength and incorporate that into a tailored vocational plan that maximizes their independence in a given work setting. All individuals will be given the opportunity for work assignments and will earn a paycheck as part of a working unit. This will ultimately become fulltime replacements for those individuals who master the skills and move on to the Employment Services program. The objective of the Vocational Day program is to provide each individual with skills that prepare them for independence and productivity in theri vocational lives and beyond.
