However, DORS, Division of Rehabilitation Services, also provides funding for services to New Horizons Supported Services on a short-term basis. The service and the level of need of the individual dictate the funding amount.Below are the typical funding entities that are available according to the qualifications outlined for services.
DDA funds: Long-term funds that are received for the duration of the individual’s services. Typically, when DDA funding is approved and is not otherwise specified the individual is being given what is known as full DDA funding.
Fee Payment System or FPS/Day: These funds are DDA generated and are designated for individuals whose disabilities prove to be too significant to facilitate employment placement in the community.
Supported Employment: These funds are DDA generated and are provided for individuals who were disabled before the age of 22 however are able to work in the community for at least thirty (30) hours per week.
ISS Funds: These funds are also DDA generated, however they are limited in amount and only provide isolated services to the individual. They are provided for the duration of services, yet again they are allocated for very specific services and typically are considerably smaller in value.
CSLA (Community Supported Living Arrangements): These funds are DDA generated for those individuals who own their own home/apartment/dwelling and are able to live independently in their community with drop in supports for domestic skills.
DORS Funding: DORS funding is short-term, paid to New Horizons Supported Services to provide a very specific service.
