Quality Assurance
NHSSI believes quality to be paramount to our mission. The Quality Assurance (QA) committee was created to ensure that all programs and practices at NHSSI meet with state and local regulations. NHSSI has created, in accordance with the state of Maryland, a QA plan that outlines goals and measurements for the organization. Further, it [QA Plan] incorporates surveys that are distributed amongst the individuals we support, as well as their parents, caregivers and employees to get a broad perspective of our performance. NHSSI is in perpetual pursuit of excellence and understands that we must first understand what it is we are trying to accomplish and then measure our success in doing so.
In conjunction with the “Ask Me Project” and several outside committees NHSSI has established methods and measurements that constantly measure our progress on stated goals and outcomes. Our in-house QA committee is comprised of staff, Board members, individuals that are part of our program, parents/caregivers and community members. This committee is charged with the responsibility to review files, programs and practices to ensure compliance with expectations, laws and regulations. Further, the QA director monitors the organizations' programs daily to ensure that policies and procedures are strictly adhered to and that each individual is given the adequate, quality support they deserve.
